General Houseplant Care

Orchids

Did You Know?

– Phalaenopsis orchids typically originate from the Himalayas and Philippines.
– They tend to grow on the side of trees and in between rocks near a water source and feed off plant debris.

Plant Care

– Orchids prefer a high air humidity and don’t like their roots to be soaking wet. This can cause the roots to rot. Only water them about once a week with tepid water and make sure you water from the top and let the water drain through the  pot.
– Place your orchid in a partially filtered light.
– You should repot your orchid at least every two years and use a special orchid compost.

– Prune any new growth to maintain its shape.
– Fertilise monthly when it is actively growing new buds or leaves.

Air Plants

Did You Know?

– They can live absolutely anywhere! On trees, upside down and sideways!
– The root systems hold the plant stable, and do not absorb nutrients.

Plant Care

– Keep your air plant at 8 degrees or above, and position it in a light airy spot and away from any direct heat.
– To water your air plant lightly mist it with water every few days. If you can use rain water.
– To get the most out of your air plant feed it with an air plant fertiliser. If it’s a flowering air plant it will encourage it to bloom!
