Garden Centre reels in top award
21 September 2009
Staff at Bretby were celebrating this week after the Garden Centre picked up a prestigious award for its aquatic and pet department.
Judged by the Garden Centre Association, Bretby came a very credible third out of fifteen entries from across the midlands. Manager Nick Fairbrother said: “We were judged on a number of aspects including our environment, hygiene, layout and stock management. The judges were also looking for livestock welfare and visitor safety.”
Aquatic Supervisor Ken Sharp was delighted with the result; he has worked at Bretby for five years. “Our customers want plenty of choice, healthy fish and good value for money” he told us, “and they know they can find that at Bretby. We stock all the latest aquariums and we always maintain a really good selection of freshwater and tropical fish.”
Nick added “I’m full of admiration for Ken and his team. They are all fish fanatics and this award is a credit to the hard work they’ve put in to give our aquatics centre the success it deserves”.
