Our Restaurant first opened it’s doors in 1992 following the success of the newly founded Garden Centre…….

This may sound surprising, but we have visitors who come to Bretby just for our food! We have some delicious, fresh dishes which all prepared from local British produce and of course our staff are always on hand to offer outstanding service.

Our Restaurant manager Chris, joined the team in April 2017 and is continuing to grow and improve the restaurant with new ideas.
Chris and his team are very proud of their reputation which is continuing to spread beyond the local area for providing our customers with good home cooked food prepared fresh to order using locally sourced ingredients.

We are excited to announce our Autumn/Winter menu which launched in October 2018, it’s full of delicious meals and snacks, with old favorites and new seasonal dishes, check out our menus below…..

During the Autumn of 2016 we refurbished our Restaurant to enable us to accommodate up to 200 people and also provide our customers with a modern, light and relaxing environment.
Plans are already a foot to expand the restaurant even further, watch this space!

We are pleased to announce that we can accommodate private functions within our restaurant. Whatever the occasion we can provide you with an area of our restaurant, seating up to 40 peopledepending on configuration and we can work with you to tailor our packages and menus to best suit your requirements.

We can provide anything from a cup of tea or coffee to a buffet lunch, afternoon tea or a full 4 course sit down meal to suit your requirements. With our buffets starting from just £7.99 per head they provide excellent value for money for any function.

We are really pleased to announce that we are members of PAPA, Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association and also the British Sandwich Association, we are very proud to know that our restaurant meets the required standards to be apart of these highly accredited associations.

In the Spring of 2017 we were a semi-finalist in the ‘Sandwich Designer of the Year’ Competition and in the Autumn we were a finalist in the ‘Cafe Life Awards’ in London, judged by celebrity chef Theo Randall. We are really proud to of reached the finals in such a prestigious competition.

We have plenty more competitions in the pipeline so we hope to be winning lots of awards soon, so watch this space!!

We are proud to work with our local supplier Willshee’s, who provide a zero waste to landfill service. We are always looking at new ways to be greener and continue to reduce our impact on the environment.

Food waste creates a dis-proportionate amount of Greenhouse Gases that are released into the atmosphere as it degrades. Following the launch of a new vehicle & service Willshee’s now ensure that our food waste and glass are fully recycled. Any food waste we produce is taken directly to an Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant in our local region.

Once the collected food waste is delivered to a local AD plant it goes through the full Anaerobic Digestion process, which turns the food waste into compost. The gases of the waste drive a generator which in-turn produces electricity, with all the electricity produced provided to the National Grid as green energy.

Willshee’s new collection vehicle has been designed with two separate compartments to allow them to collect food and glass waste at the same time, which further reduces the amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere.

The mixed glass they collect is stored at their Burton-on-Trent depot until they reach 26 tonne, at which point the glass is delivered into a glass recycling facility in our region. After the glass is cleaned and sorted by colour, it is melted and moulded in to new products. The glass is then recycled as new products which will be reused.

Glass doesn’t degrade through the recycling process, so it can be recycled an infinite number of times without any loss of purity. Recycled glass can be made into usable products in as little as 30 days.

Here at Planters, we are always looking at new ways to be greener and continue to reduce our impact on the environment and reduce our carbon footprint.

Ian Barker Butchers

Situated in the village of Rolleston-On-Dove on the outskirts of Burton on Trent, Ian Barker Butchers has been established as a family business for over 45 years. They know and trust all the farmers who rear the cattle, pigs and sheep in the local villages.

Beanworks

Based in Northampton, Beanworks carefully source, roast and taste their coffees before packing. To celebrate their long working relationship with Planters they have created a special blend of coffee just for us, why not try and cup today!

Needwood Ice Creams

We only use the best – award winning Ice creams from Needwood are produced in Anslow, Nr. Burton and are proudly served in our Restaurant. They use only the finest of locally sourced ingredients.

Betty's Farm

We only buy Free Range Eggs, all of our eggs come from Betty’s Farm in Willington, a family run farm where chicken welfare is paramount. The hens forage on a 24 acre field and our kept to the strict welfare standards to ensure they can be classed as free range.

Luke Evans Bakery

The Evans family bake their bread each morning in Riddings to the same recipes used since they were founded in 1804. We are proud to say that all of our sandwiches are made fresh to order using their bread. We also sell a delicious range of their breads and cakes in our Garden Centre too!

Just Crisps

The Froggatt family have been farming for four generations and their delicious potato crisps are hand cooked, flavoured, bagged and boxed on their farm in Staffordshire. Their home grown potatoes are cooked in the rapeseed oil which is also from the farm. Enjoy a bag in our restaurant today.
