Christmas Trees

We are the largest retailer of Christmas trees in the area. We’ve been selling to the public for over 20 years and we only sell quality British trees sourced locally in the Midlands.

Our freshly cut local trees last longer so you can enjoy their beauty all Christmas long.

You’ll be spoilt for choice with our huge selection of freshly cut traditional Nordmann Fir, Fraser Fir and Norway Spruce Christmas trees.

Available in a wide variety of sizes and stored undercover, they are net wrapped only at the point of purchase and we can deliver them too.

We also sell rooted trees and robust Christmas tree stands to keep your tree looking its best throughout the festive season.


The Restaurant at Christmas

Traditional Christmas fare is the order of the day at Bretby. We always serve delicious food throughout the festive period and many of our customers return year after year.

The restaurant has continued to expand and we can now accommodate up to 200 customers – we’re also planning to improve the layout even further.

Julie Shaw and her team are proud of their reputation which is spreading beyond the local area and it is obvious to everybody that they all enjoy preparing food which satisfies the palate and tingles the taste buds.

Christmas Houseplants

Bretby is famous for its houseplants and at Christmas we have some really excellent locally grown plants. Perfect for presents these colourful plants will certainly bring a touch of the outdoors into your home and are sure to brighten the dullest winter day.

Poinsettias
We have a huge range of Poinsettias. Easily identified by their large colourful bracts, bushy compact shape and soft green leaves, the Poinsettia is ideal for warm rooms and is tolerant of central heating. Available with red, marbled pink or white bracts, plants can be gift wrapped in store.

Did you know?
Poinsettias are named after Joel Roberts Poinsett, the first United States ambassador to Mexico, who introduced the plant into the U.S. in 1825.

Cyclamen
Ever popular as houseplants, we have a wide range of Cyclamen in all sizes and colours from white through pink and purple to darkest wine red. Ranging in price from £1.99 to £7.99 our large Cyclamen have probably the biggest flowers you’ll ever see.
Best in a cool area of your house, Cyclamen will flower well beyond Christmas and are very easy to look after.

Indoor Cyclamen are derived from a wild species native to the Middle East.

Hyacinths
Potted Hyacinths are colourful and very fragrant. A bowl of Hyacinths remind us that spring is just around the corner every time we enter the room. Available in a range of attractive bowls, these heavily flowering plants are excellent value with beautiful blooms that will last throughout the festive season and well into next year.

Hyacinths were originally cultivated in Europe by the ancient Greeks and Romans.

Potted mixed plant arrangements
For a truly stunning centerpiece, sideboard display or table top arrangement, our beautiful mixed plants collection is the perfect antidote to beat the winter blues.
Make sure you include at least one pot of these cheery chaps in your shopping basket; they’ll bring a bit of sunshine to any room this Christmas.
All plants are sold gift wrapped in cellophane.

Our jigsaws range in size and ability too; from simple children’s nursery puzzles to 1000 piece mind benders and we also stock a good selection puzzle boards and rollups.
